Red Storm, Part One

Forces

Tri-State Historical Miniatures Gaming will be hosting a Team Yankee tournament at Rogue State Games in Mahwah, NJ. Your army can cost no more than 100 dynamic points and all units must be from a single nation.

Players must build a force using the Forces part of the official Battlefront website using dynamic points. If a player cannot for whatever reason access that site send me an email (tarrif@hotmail.com) and we'll work it out.

Restrictions

Your list must be from a single source-book. Multiple formations are allowed, but again, they must all be from the same source-book. For example, a German player cannot mix Iron Cross and Afrika Korps force or formation support in the same list.

Don't have an army? That's ok!

If you'd like to play but don't have an army you can borrow one. We have a lot of Team Yankee stuff and are happy to share!

Match-up System

Players will be matched up using Best Coast Pairings in a Swiss style system. You MUST sign up for Best Coast Pairings to participate in this event. It's very easy and costs nothing. You need BCP if you plan on playing in any of the other Battlefront Tournament Series in 2025 anyway.

Scoring

We will be using the Battlefront Victory Points system.  The player who holds the most objectives at the end of each game will be the winner of that game. In the event of a tie, the win goes to the player with the most enemy units destroyed.

  • Winner lost 0-1 Units: Winner 8 VP, Loser 1 VP
  • Winner lost 2 Units: Winner 7 VP, Loser 2 VP
  • Winner lost 3+ Units: Winner 6 VP, Loser 3 VP

Bonus Points

Early List Submission

Lists are due by midnight on May 28th, however, if you get your list to me by midnight of May 26th you will start the tournament with +2 bonus Victory Points. This will help me check the lists in a timely fashion and get things moving along faster.

Prizes

Battlefront Games has generously provided us with a good amount of Battlefront products to award to tournament participants, as well as plaques, certificates, etc. Our group will also provide additional prizes for this event. More details will be available on the day of the tournament.

Code of Conduct

The following is a list of what is expected of players during the event. We want to make sure as little time as possible is lost and more time is available to play the games.

  • Language: players must be able to speak enough English to complete a full game with no major translation issues.
  • Slow Play: players are expected to complete a minimum of 5 turns during games.
  • Rules Queries: any rules / LOS debates / odd scenarios that cannot be quickly cleared up via the rulebook, please call the Tournament Organizer over immediately.
  • Dice Etiquette: please ensure all dice rolls are done on an open section of the board, or dice tray, in full view of your opponent. Any dice that hits the floor will be re-rolled.
  • Order Dice Etiquette: please ensure all order dice are placed next to their activated units, with the correct order showing. For example, we do not want arguments about a unit benefitting from being Down, when their order dice incorrectly shows a rally order.
  • Terrain: a document that details how each terrain type works will be released separately.
  • Referee Rulings: During a query referees will listen to both sides of the argument and come up with a decision based on the evidence. Once a decision has been made both players are to accept that ruling.
  • After Game: Once a game has been completed, players are to record their scores, hand them to the Tournament Organizer.
