Slovakian & Italian Forces

With the recent publication of Case Blue and the changes to the Slovakian and Italian forces, players were able to use the new national rules from that book.

Missions

We played three missions, in no particular order:  Sectors*, Key Positions, and Double Envelopment

Note: Sectors will not have a preparatory bombardment and not use attacker / defender rules. Key Positions will have 5 objectives so no need to roll for them.

Scoring

We used an adjusted scoring system with Swiss style pairing. Any player could score 25 points per round with an additional +5 points for winning the round.

Match-up System

One round one players will be matched with their opponents randomly with as many Axis vs Allies battles as possible. After round one a Swiss pairing system was used where we tried to get players new opponents and one new tables whenever possible.

Prizes

Warlord Games has generously provided us with several unique figures, certificates, and a good amount of Warlord products to award to tournament participants. Our group will also provide additional prizes for this event. More details will be available on the day of the tournament.

Code of Conduct

The following is a list of what is expected of players during the event. We want to make sure as little time as possible is lost and more time is available to play the games.

  • Language: players must be able to speak enough English to complete a full game with no major translation issues.
  • Slow Play: players are expected to complete a minimum of 5 turns during games.
  • Rules Queries: any rules / LOS debates / odd scenarios that cannot be quickly cleared up via the rulebook, please call the Tournament Organizer over immediately.
  • Dice Etiquette: please ensure all dice rolls are done on an open section of the board, or dice tray, in full view of your opponent. Any dice that hits the floor will be re-rolled.
  • Order Dice Etiquette: please ensure all order dice are placed next to their activated units, with the correct order showing. For example, we do not want arguments about a unit benefitting from being Down, when their order dice incorrectly shows a rally order.
  • Terrain: a document that details how each terrain type works will be released separately.
  • Referee Rulings: During a query referees will listen to both sides of the argument and come up with a decision based on the evidence. Once a decision has been made both players are to accept that ruling.
  • After Game: Once a game has been completed, players are to record their scores, hand them to the Tournament Organizer.
